AAU BASEBALL &
SOFTBALL AND YBOA/AAU BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS In 2005, the Town of Valdese will be hosting a number of YBOA/AAU Basketball, AAU Baseball & Softball tournaments between March and October. These tournaments fall as follows: AAU Baseball / Softball Tournament Schedule: March 18 - 20, May 6 - 8, June 24 - 26, July 29 - 31, August 19 - 21, September 23 - 25, October 14 - 16 YBOA / AAU Basketball Tournament Schedule: March 11 - 13
Venues & Directions Valdese Community Center – I-40, Exit 111. From West, take right off of exit, at top of hill, take right on bridge over I-40. From East, take left off of exit ramp, at top of hill, take right. Community Center on right, approximately 1 mile from I-40. Basketball Tiger Gym – I-40, Exit 111. Same as above, except go past Valdese Community Center to stop light. Take left onto Main St. At fourth light, take right onto Church St. Go approximately ¼ mile, take right between old school building and Valdese Elementary School sign. Circle behind old school building. Tiger Gym straight ahead. Basketball RO Huffman Center – I-40, Exit 107. From West, take right off of exit (Hwy 114). Go approximately 1 ½ miles to stop light (intersection of Hwy 70). Go thru light approximately ¼ mile, RO Huffman Center on left. Parking in back of center. From East, take right off of exit ramp, follow same directions as above. Basketball, Baseball & Softball – Dirt Infield Heritage Middle School – I-40, Exit 107. Same as RO Huffman Center directions, except at stop light (intersection of Hwy 70) take a right. Go approximately 4/10 of mile to stop light, take left at stop light onto Enon Rd. Heritage Middle School approximately 1 mile on right. Go thru main entrance into school, gym to the left. Baseball & softball fields in back of campus. Basketball, Baseball – Grass Infield, Softball – Dirt Infield East Burke Middle School – I-40, Exit 116. From West, take left off of exit, immediate right to left of Burger King. East Burke Middle School 200 yards on left. Gym entrance and parking in rear of school. Baseball & softball fields to left of school. From East, take left off of exit. At stop light, bear right to left of Burger King. Basketball, Baseball – Dirt Infield, Softball – Dirt Infield East Burke High School – I-40, Exit 116. From West, take right off of exit, then first left. Go approximately 1 mile to intersection, turn left onto campus. Follow this road around parking lots to back of school. Gym entrance in side of school. To baseball & softball fields, take right at gate/guard house. Fields on right. From East, take left off of exit, then under bridge, take right. 1 mile to intersection, follow above directions. Basketball, Baseball – Grass Infield, Softball – Dirt Infield Reep Park – I-40, Exit 118. From West, take right off of exit. Go approximately ¼ to ½ mile to convenience store. Take left at store, Reep Park approximately 3.4 miles on left. From East, take left off of exit. Follow above directions. Baseball, Softball - Dirt Infield Childrens Park – I-40, Exit 112. From West, take left off of exit. Go approximately 1 mile to stop light (intersection of Hwy 70/Main St.). Take right onto Hwy 70/Main St. Childrens Park approximately ¼ mile on right. Additional parking at Alray Tire and Valdese Public Works. From East, take right off of exit, follow same directions as above. Baseball – Grass Infield McGalliard Falls Park / Fletcher Ballpark – I-40, Exit 112. From West, take left off of exit. Go approximately 1 mile to stop light. Go thru stop light on Eldred St. to stop sign (approx. ¼ mile). At stop sign, bear right onto Laurel St. Go approximately 1 ½ miles, turn left onto Meytre Ave. Go 100 yards to Fletcher Ballpark sign, bear right at sign. At bottom of hill, turn right. Ballpark straight ahead. From East, take right off of exit, follow same directions as above. Baseball, Softball - 1 Grass Infield, 1 Dirt Infield Lodging - All in Morganton, 10 Minute Drive
