FARMERS' MARKET

A farmer shows off his tomatoes. In the summer months, Valdese hosts a Farmer's Market in conjunction with the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Agency and the Valdese Downtown Development Association.

The Market is held in the Town Parking lot located on Faet Street, across from Town Hall. Operating hours are:  Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon and on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Market runs from early June through mid-October, just in time for purchasing your Halloween pumpkins.

It is required that all produce sold at the market be grown in Burke County and between ten and twenty vendors regularly show up to sell their crops. At the Market, you'll find fruit such as apples and pears and vegetables like beans and potatoes.

If you would like more details or to participate in the Farmers' Market, please contact the Community Affairs Department at (828) 879-2129.
